Cheryl Jack is a Saskatchewan born writer and actor. She is a graduate of the National Theatre School. Her play Out in the Cold was presented as a public reading at the 2004 Saskatchewan Playwrights' Centre Spring Festival. Cheryl has also adapted  Out in the Cold for both radio and film and both have been produced. Cheryl co-wrote Lou which was performed at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. Her most recent play, At The End of Her Rope, will have its world premiere at Persephone Theatre in March of 2008.  Cheryl currently lives in Saskatoon with her partner Bruce and dog Murphy.

Out in the Cold

Synopsis:
Out in the Cold involves Thomas, a man dropped off in the middle of nowhere. He meets two men, Cold as Ice and Soft as Snow. These two characters struggle over what they will do with Thomas. Their choice will change their future forever.

Characters:
Cold as Ice - Age 30-40. Quick, devious, and playful. He has a twinkle in his eye.
Soft as Snow - In his 30s or 60s. Playful but grounded. He also has a twinkle.
Thomas - Age 25-30.

At The End of Her Rope

Synopsis:
On September 9, 1949, a flight to Baie Comeau, Quebec, exploded with Rita Gauy and 22 other people aboard.  There were no survivors.  One of the co-conspirators was Marguerite Pitre, the last woman hanged in Canada.  Truths, half truths, or lies - perhaps we'll never know.

Production History:
This play had its first public reading in May of 2006 at the Saskatchewan Playwrights' Centre Spring Festival of New Plays.  It will have its world premiere at Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon in March of 2008.

Characters:
Rita Gauy - Wife to Albert Gauy. Rita is in her early 40’s. Albert Gauy - Husband to Rita Gauy. Albert is in his 40’s. Genereux Ruest - Brother to Marguerite Pitre. He is in a wheelchair. Genereux is between 35-40 years of age. Marguerite Pitre - Sister to Genereux Ruest. Marguerite is early 30’s.
The Prosecutor - Represents the court.
Clerk/ Police Officer/ Hangman/Cargo Handler/Waiter: Played by one actor
Little Boy - This character is about eight years old..
