Leeann Minogue grew up in rural Saskatchewan and eventually made the decision to stay. Now she lives on a grain farm in south-eastern Saskatchewan, five miles south of Griffin, with her husband, Brad Barlow, their dog Angus, and two identical cats. Dry Streak is her first full-length play. When Leeann is not writing plays and short stories she spends her time working for the provincial government, playing the piano and teaching lessons, reading, knitting, welding, attempting to avoid housework, and helping out on the farm.

Synopsis:
Hot. Burning hot. In the dry hot summer of the 1988, a young woman who has traveled the world moves with her boyfriend to a Saskatchewan farm. After months of unrelenting heat, dust, and the endless complaints of everyone around her, she makes a very public promise: If only the drought will break, she'll run naked through the streets of town.

Production History:
Dry Streak was presented as a staged reading at the 2004 Spring Festival of New Plays and then premiered at the Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon in January 2006. An early draft of Dry Streak was produced in Lacadena, Saskatchewan under the title "Give 'Er Snoose". Dry Streak has been presented by the communities of Cabri and Mortlach, the Weyburn Agricultural Society, and at the Station Arts Centre in Rosthern.

The print version has been nominated for a 2006 Saskatchewan Book Award in the First Book Category.
