Spring Festival 2017 Update

The Spring Festival of New Plays will be presented May 9th through 13th at Paved Arts, 424 20th St. West, Saskatoon. The schedule is as follows.

We’re excited to introduce our directors for Spring Festival

Vern Thiessen: Our Festival Dramaturge, is a Governor General’s Award winning playwright and is the Artistic Director of Workshop West Theatre. Soulpepper Theatre’s production of his stage adaptation of Somerset Maugham’s Of Human Bondage will open July 1st in New York.

Michael Shamata is currently Artistic Director of The Belfry Theatre in Victoria, BC., and is former Artistic Director of Theatre New Brunswick. He has directed plays from coast to coast and has adapted several works to the stage.

Ardith Boxall has been Artistic Director of Theatre Projects Manitoba since 2005. The company produces new and established works as well as running a new play development program.

Laurel Green is Artistic Associate at Alberta Theatre Projects where she works in new play development, programming and is the company’s literary manager. Recent projects include: Cockroach, The Circle, Butcher, Charlotte’s Web, Red and several others.

Emma Tibaldo is Artistic and Executive Director of Playwrights Workshop Montreal and a founding member of Talisman Theatre. She has several directing credits for theatres across the country as well as being in high demand as a dramaturg and director for staged readings.
