Tell us about your idea! Make it exciting! If you’re excited about it, we’ll be excited about it. Give us the story or the plot line or even just something you want to tackle and how you intend on approaching it. Submissions are due Friday, July 15th, 2022 at 5pm Saskatchewan time. The Selection Process
We pass your pitch along to our jury and they select which projects get accepted into the program. Selections will be announced Monday July 25th, 2022 at 10am Saskatchewan time. Those selected will be sent a contract and a writing stipend of $900.

Please note that once you are selected to participate in the program, you will be required to take out a membership. Visit our membership page for more information.

The Work
Once we enter into a contract, you must produce a first draft within 2 months. Then you get paired with an experienced dramaturge who will help take your script to the next level. Through a series of one-on-one meetings, you’ll discuss everything to do with your script and how to make it stronger. We make every effort to pair you with a dramaturge experienced in the type of theatre that you are writing for.

The Workshop
After you’ve been through rewrites and are a few drafts deep, and upon recommendation of your dramaturge, we will arrange for a workshop of you script. The full day workshop will include a cast of actors, a director, you, and your dramaturge. Each workshop is different, depending on the needs of the script. But typically it includes a read through and some discussion with everyone and then a private discussion with your dramaturge. From there, you go on to make any necessary changes.

The Festival
All this work will culminate in a digital festival of new works. Your script will be performed in a staged reading by a cast of actors. The reading will be professionally filmed and edited before being broadcast online during the week of the festival. Dates are TBA.
